Torchlight! for fans of Diablo

Here is the trailer for a game i’ve been playing a lot of recently. It’s called “Torchlight” and it’s a blast. It is an Action RPG for the PC in very much the same vein as Diablo. The visual style is a lot like WoW and seems to run very well on a large variety of systems. My thoughts so far is that it captures the essence of what makes this genre fun and even adds some improvements along the way. Enjoy the trailer and check out the game at www.torchlightgame.com
Hmm, interesting enough. I may just have to borrow that one off of you after I get Dragon Age, Modern Warfare 2, and Assasin’s Creed 2 beat…;)

Makes me think of Fate and Wow… like if those two had a baby… this would be the game! haha!
@Splint, You are very right actually
. Believe it or not, the creator of Fate was one of the main developers on this. There are a lot of things pulled directly from that game: having a pet, being able to use it to sell stuff, fishing, using the fish to transform your pet. Overall the tone is much more… dark I suppose. I’ll post a full review later once I’ve had more time with the game.
I am stoked about this game … just gotta go get it and check it out!
It looks pretty good! I played Fate quite a bit… its a lot more child like in its animation and what not but I still loved it. Both games seem to be based completely around dungeons and instance type settings (I know Fate was) which is different from WoW in the sense you have an entire outside world to explore. But im loving the Dungeon customization, I would love that in WoW…

at $20 it is a steal, at $5 it’s almost a Christmas mugging.
definitely worth the purchase if you like the action RPG genre at all, or even if you just want to try it out. You can’t rent a game for only $5 these days
True enough. I bought it, and started playing it. It will be a fun game. Can’t pass up deals like this I guess. Most of my gaming is on consoles, but it is nice to have access to some quality games on my PC if the wife is watching tv, or my son is playing Xbox.
By the way they have Lumines for like 3 bucks, that is a killer deal. My wife and I LOVED that game on the PSP.

Yeah, Steam definitely helps encourage PC gaming imo…I found myself buying other ’steals’ on Steam after buying Borderlands!
