The Time Is At Hand! FINAL FANTASY XIII

Final-Fantasy-XIII

I don’t know about everyone else, but this happens to be my favorite series of RPG’s hands down. I am super stoked about this game. The graphics are phenomenal, the combat system has some sweet new updates, and the story as always seems amazing. Here the Announcement Trailer for those of you who haven’t seen it yet.

Actually, they are also releasing it on 360. I know a few Sony fans felt very bertrayed about the decision, but oh wells.

from what i understand it is a delayed release on 360 (Like 6 months), but i may be mistaken

Just found out that the Xbox version has to be split up into multiple discs because Xbox can’t handle all the information of the game on a single one…PS3 will be able to hold and sustain all the data on one disc. PS3 win!! lol

They are putting Mass Effect 2 on two discs also. I think on Mass Effect you will have to switch the disc ONE time and that’s it. I can handle that, but if I had to switch back and forth each time I played, I would stop playing. Love my 360, would love a PS3 too. Need God of War!

What is the plot for this FF? I never really got into any FF games. Would I be able to jump into this game and enjoy it without understanding the FF universe??

The Final Fantasy series is a unique one. Even though the games are all numbered 1-13 each specific title takes place in a different universe with a different story arc. Each one has similar themes and features however: the spells and abilities are always named the same (Fire, Fira, Firaga, Cure, Cura, Curaga, etc.) , there are also different classes of characters that always share names and playstyles (Black Mage-damage, White Mage-healing, Monk-hand to hand combat, etc.)

It definitely helps to have played other FF games before trying a new one because the learning curve will not be as steep, but it isn’t necessary to understand the story. The stories are a little hard to follow at times however, simply because of their eastern storytelling conventions.

One thing is for sure, the games are always beautiful and bring a unique experience each time.

Yeah those eastern games really do have a different vibe to them.

Maybe I will check it out when it comes out. I have never really been into the FF universe, but did like that CG movie from a few years back with Cloud. I have a feeling Mass Effect 2 will keep me busy for a very long time though.

    So little time.
